About the Event

About the Training

This two day workshop will prepare you for the theory by using real-world examples and hands-on, practical learning to master the ScrumAlliance’s learning objectives. Scrum is used by thousands of organizations to incorporate agile into their processes, this training will help you become integral to that transformation by equipping you with the tools and benefit of our experience.

In terms of format, our trainers use Scrum to teach Scrum, combining your training with practical experience. The course is split into two focused work periods — or ‘sprints’ — each lasting a day. Each sprint has its own backlog (a detailed description of required accomplishments) and you’ll track your progress towards your certification using burndown charts.

These are full day workshops which will no doubt be intense with learning and developments, but we’ll ensure that you’re comfortable and can sustain the pace!

There’ll be two breaks through the day (10.30am and 2.30pm) plus an hour for lunch so you can stretch and refuel through the day.

What You’ll Learn

Sprint Strong’s Scrum Master training explores and discusses in detail all of the Scrum Alliances’ required topics, including:

Agile Awareness: Understand the common ground of all Agile approaches and where they are useful. Scrum is just one of many Agile approaches so we’ll help you to understand what makes an Agile approach in the real world!

Scrum Artifacts: We’ll give you real examples of how backlogs, burndowns, and other optional artifacts such as task boards are used in projects.

Scrum Roles & Responsibilities: ScrumMaster, Product Owner, team members, who does what and why? We’ll also explain why the Project Manager doesn’t appear in the framework, help you become familiar with the roles required to run Scrum, and understand the responsibilities of each role.

Scrum Meetings: Get to see how meetings are run, who does what, and the key purpose of each meeting type along with insights and tips on making them run like clockwork – sprint planning, daily standup, sprint review, sprint retrospective, and backlog refinement.

Distributed Teams: Most organizations are used to single locations, Agile makes working in distributed teams easier, but there are still challenges, identify these challenges and become equipped with strategies to manage these dispersed teams effectively.
